We’re thrilled to introduce the newest member of our team, Harrison, who joins us as a Carpentry Apprentice! Harrison recently completed his A-Levels this summer but, like many young people, was looking for a more practical career path than university, despite his strong academic capabilities. He was eager to continue his training in a hands-on role.
Based in Ruislip, conveniently close to our Harrow offices, Harrison found us through an Indeed advertisement in June. Out of over 100 applications, his CV truly stood out. At just 17, and one of the youngest in his school year, Harrison already has valuable experience under his belt, having worked as a labourer on a construction site during his holidays. This practical knowledge shone through during his interview.
Outside of his budding career, Harrison is a keen golfer and captain of both his school and local football teams. He spent a day with us last week, breezing through his health and safety training, and was eagerly waiting at the door this morning ready to get started!
Our Commitment to Training and Development
At our company, we are deeply committed to the training and development of our entire team, regardless of age or experience. We believe in nurturing talent and providing opportunities for growth. For example, one of our team members is currently working towards his NVQ L2 in carpentry in the evenings, and we’re excitedly awaiting results for three of our roofers who recently completed their NVQ L2 in Slating and Tiling.
Harrison follows in the footsteps of Alfie, who is about to complete the first year of his carpentry apprenticeship. And our commitment extends beyond our site technicians! We also support our office team; we’re particularly excited that Ellen, our office administrator, will begin her Level 6 Chartered Management Degree Apprenticeship at the University of Hertfordshire this September – a three-year degree course.
Join us in giving Harrison a warm welcome! We’re excited to see him grow and develop his skills with us.
